Faster Wi-Fi and a backup internet line for an eight-floor serviced office building

The challenge

Our client runs a serviced office building with eight floors and around 80 offices. Its tenants rely on the building’s network for everything they do, so when the Wi-Fi is weak or the internet slows down, it’s the building manager who hears about it.

The building needed stronger Wi-Fi across every floor, more bandwidth for each office, and protection against losing its internet connection. All of it had to happen without disrupting the businesses working in the building every day.

What we did

We upgraded the building’s core network infrastructure, planning the work around the tenants so offices could keep working.

• Upgraded the core network so it can carry more traffic across all eight floors.
• Improved Wi-Fi coverage throughout the building, so tenants get a strong signal wherever they work.
• Increased the bandwidth available to each office.
• Added a second internet connection with automatic failover.

The results

The building now has stronger Wi-Fi on every floor and more bandwidth for every office. With two internet connections and automatic failover, if one line has a problem the building stays online, and tenants carry on working while the fault is fixed.
