IT SECURITY & CYBER ESSENTIALS

IT security & Cyber Essentials for London & Hertfordshire businesses

Layered, monitored protection for your people, devices and data – without the jargon or the scare tactics.

Most cyber incidents at small organisations start with something ordinary – a phishing email, or a laptop that missed its updates. We put the right controls in place, keep them monitored, and help you prove it with Cyber Essentials, so you can get on with running your business.

Practical cyber security for SMEs and charities

Most cyber incidents we see don’t start with a sophisticated hacker – they start with a reused password, a convincing fake invoice email or a laptop that hasn’t been updated in months. That’s actually good news: it means the majority of attacks can be stopped by getting the fundamentals right, and keeping them right.

We take a layered, defence-in-depth approach: protecting identities with multi-factor authentication and Conditional Access, locking down devices through Intune, filtering email before it reaches your inbox, and putting monitored endpoint protection on every machine. Each layer backs up the others, so if one control is bypassed, the next one catches it.

Because we already manage your IT day to day, security isn’t a bolt-on product – it’s built into how your systems are set up, patched and supported. And when you need to prove it, whether for Cyber Essentials, a client’s supplier questionnaire or your cyber insurance renewal, we help you pull the evidence together.

How we secure your business

Frequently asked questions

What is Cyber Essentials, and do we need it?

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed scheme certifying that you have five core technical controls in place: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management. It’s required for many public sector contracts, increasingly asked for by larger clients, and a solid baseline for any organisation.

Can you help us get Cyber Essentials certified?

Yes. We review your setup against the requirements, fix any gaps, and support you through the self-assessment questionnaire. If you’re aiming for Cyber Essentials Plus, we’ll get your environment ready for the independent technical audit.

Is Microsoft 365 secure out of the box?

Not entirely. Microsoft 365 includes excellent security features, but many aren’t switched on or properly configured by default. Conditional Access, mailbox auditing and data protection policies all need deliberate setup – which is exactly what we do.

Do we need to replace our antivirus?

Traditional signature-based antivirus struggles against modern threats. We’ll check what you have and, if needed, move you to endpoint detection and response (EDR), which spots suspicious behaviour rather than just known malware.

What happens if we’re hit by a cyber attack?

Call us straight away. We’ll help contain the incident, isolate affected devices, secure accounts and restore from backup where needed – and help you understand any reporting obligations, such as notifying the ICO under UK GDPR.
